Water baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have made a decision to turn from our old life, personally trusted Jesus to forgive our sins, and have surrendered the leadership of our lives to Him.
To prepare for water baptism we ask that you attend stepONE of our Growth Track any first Sunday of the month for one hour immediately after second service. There you will learn the meaning of water baptism and get other important information.
We typically offer baptism at the end of our 11 AM Sunday services on the second Sunday of each month. For specific dates, please visit our Calendar.
The HISplace Growth Track guides you to discover your redemptive purpose and live the life God created for you.
Small Groups are the heart of HISplace Family Church. Our groups are a great way to meet people, have fun and grow in God. We think everyone needs a connection with other Christ-followers. So we encourage you to get involved in a group each semester.
Bible Reading Plans
One of the greatest tools for spiritual growth is the daily reading of God’s Word, the Bible. We recommend reading from a translation like the New Living Translation. By reading a few minutes each day, you can read through the entire Bible in one year. If you are new to following Christ, we recommend you begin by reading the book of John.
Here are several daily Bible reading for you.
We are a missions-minded church. We believe in praying, going, supporting financially and sending people to reach the world for Jesus.
We currently support the following mission efforts:
Earl and Bev Rutledge – Church planters in Nicaragua
Flames of Fire Ministries led by Larry and Marla Johnson and based in Guatemala but impacting Central America
Since 2001, we host an annual Guatemala Pastors’ Conference in Guatemala for the hard working pastors of eastern Guatemala to come be refreshed and encouraged. Since 2009, we have also hosted an annual Honduras Pastors’ Conference. HISplace Family Church provides the food and lodging for both of these conferences through our missions giving.
We also support the following mission efforts:
Pastor and leader training through Dr. Dean Radtke and The Ministry Institute
U.S. Church Planting through the Association of Related Churches
We believe prayer is vital to the life of every Christ-follower and for our church to fulfill our assignment from God. We often say "Pray First". In fact, years ago God impressed upon Pastor Doug’s heart that “Increased prayer brings the necessary adjustments”. So prayer has been integrated into the life of the church as follows:
- Saturday Morning Prayer – Come be a part of praying for our country, community, and Sunday services on Saturday mornings from 9-10 am.
- 21 Days of Prayer - In January and August, we host a special, three-week emphasis on prayer.
Note: The above are open to anyone.
- Lead a Prayer Small Group – We desire to have prayer groups meet every semester.
- Prayer Partners – Be part of praying for the needs of people after Sunday service.
